Chapter 15


Lacy didn’t think that she would ever hear those words come out of his mouth…she stood there staring at him.

“What”

“I said I just want to be with you” Max smile and kissed her.

She smiled into the kiss and wrapped her arms around his neck. She pushed herself as close to him as she could and slowly ran her tongue across his bottom lip. His hands only got tighter as she pushed herself up against him. He wanted her bad…he was fighting his control when she ran her tongue along his upper lip and moaned into the kiss. He was surprised but he certainly wasn’t going to question anything he enjoying this way too much. Max picked Lacy up and started walking towards the bed not taking his lips off of her. She kept her legs wrapped around his waist as they lay down on the bed. She couldn’t believe this was actually going to happen but she didn’t want to stop. She pulled away just enough and started kissing along his neck and back up to his mouth as her hands started at the buttons of his shirt as he slipped his hands underneath her scrub top that she was still wearing. She finally got the last of the buttons off and pushed the shirt off of him and went right back to his lips but this time she let Max take control.

His erection was pushing up against his jeans but he was determined to make this special for her, for him, for both of them. He slowly moved his kisses down her neck and to her chest. Lacy ran her hands down his chest and stopped at his belt buckle and began to unbuckle it and get him out of his jeans. Max lifted himself off of her long enough to get his jeans and boxers off and he reached into the side table and pulled out a condom but kept it on top of the table. He worked his way back to Lacy and started playing light kisses down her neck back to both of her breast. As he was kissing around one and sucking on her nipple he moved his other hand down the rest of her body and gently ran his hand over her clit. “What are you doing”

“Has no one done this to you before” She just shook her head and Max couldn’t believe it.

“You’ll like it” Max just smile and started kissing his way around where his hand had just been.

“Max I’ve never done any of this before” It slipped out of her mouth before her brain could process it. That got Max’s attention and he made his way back up her body so he was looking in her eyes.

“You mean you never had ….” He couldn’t finish his statement. He suddenly felt like a douche no wonder why she always pushed him always stopped things.

“Lacy…why didn’t you say anything…we can stop”

“That right there is why I didn’t say anything” She stopped and looked at him. They were both laying naked on his bed and to be quite honest she didn’t want to stop.

This time it was his time to stop… “Are you sure Lac”

Instead of saying anything she just leaned up and kissed him like she had when everything had first started. Lacy laid back and Max just followed until he was using his arms to hold most of his weight off of her. He didn’t want to just jump into it now he really wanted to make it special for her. He pushed the hair out of her face and gently kissed her and then ran his hand down her body and in between her legs brushing it over her clit once again. She arched into him once again and he took this as his cue to continue. She kept his thumb where it was and grazed it over her as he slipped his finger into her and started gently pumping it in and out of her.

“MMMMMMm Max” He was driving her crazy but she loved every second of it. Hearing her moaning his name was only fueling his desire for her. He waited just a few minutes and let their breathing go back to normal before he pulled out of her and got up and headed to the bathroom to clean himself up. He made his way back to the bed to see Lacy still laying in the same spot.

“Lac…are you ok”

“MmmHmmm” She turned her head to look at him and just smiled. He pulled the back the covers sending rose petals all over the floor but he didn’t care he could pick that up later.”

“What time do you have to get up tomorrow.”

“Ummm probably around 7 I can wear the same scrubs as I did today. I have and extra pair of underwear in my purse” she said and she curled up next to Max and put her head on his shoulder.

“Really”

“Yea I can’t tell you how many times I’ve needed to change scrubs and other thing like that.”

Max didn’t argue with her he was too caught up in having her body this close to his in bed when they were both naked. He could already feel his body reacting again but he didn’t want to push to much.

“I love you Lacy”

Lacy looked up. She thought this night couldn’t get any more perfect but it just did

“I love you to Max” and closed her eyes

Max there for a bit, he couldn’t believe what had just slipped out of his mouth…Max Talbot didn’t use those words…did he

Chapter 16

It had been two days since Max and Lacy had said the L word to each other. Max was refusing to actually say the word to himself. He never said that word unless it was to his mother and family but that doesn’t count.

Max was sitting in the locker room he had been cleared for contact practice which he was happy about because he could put his mind somewhere else hopefully.

“Talbot….PAY ATTENTION”

“Sorry Coach” and skated off toward the next drill.

It had been a long hard practice and it didn’t really help that Max wasn’t really there he was still thinking about the other night and how since he had distanced himself from Lacy. They talked but he had told her he was really busy with being cleared and needed to get back on track.

“Talbo…What is up with you man” Jordan asked as they were undressing in the room

“Just got a lot on my mind…No big deal. I’ll be ready by Thursday”

“You better be” and Jordan walked off”

Flower had heard all of this but knew better.

“Ok…so you can fool him that easily but no me what’s going on”

“Lacy…I told her I loved her”

“You said that…Max Talbot….”

“Yes…you remember that plan I had well it worked”

“Ok so you got what you wanted I don’t see where the I love you comes into play…”

“It was her first time Flower….she never moved on….she never dated anyone else….she never slept with anyone until two days ago. I don’t know but before I could stop it I said it….and she said it back” Max then put his head down and ran his hands through his hair.

“Well do you”

“I don’t know ….I like her a lot I know that but the L word”

“Max you better figure it out.

Lacy was at work she hadn’t really seen Max since the morning when he dropped her off after possibly the best night of her life. She tried to get together since but Max said that he was busy with being cleared and making sure he was ready. She was trying not to think the worst but Max hadn’t called her back since last night and that was making work hard…not to mention Erin wouldn’t stop bringing it up.

“Come on Lac…spill it”

“NO….it is none of your damn business…leave me alone”

“Lacy”

“Erin….stop none of your business….”

Erin turned around and walked away…Lacy pulled her phone out to check it for the tenth time that day and still nothing. So she tried again.

It rang and rang but went to voicemail…. Hope practice went good…call me later…Love you Max

She didn’t know what else to say but when she added that last part on it began to dawn on her…He was pulling away just like last time. He had said it last time and then went away to play hockey and pulled away from her…and it was happening again. She was willing herself not to cry she had to make it through the rest of her day in one piece…Lana had told her there was a surprise for her at the house, hopefully it was from Max.

By the time 5 rolled around and there was still nothing from Max she couldn’t take it anymore. She let the tears fall on her way home. She gave him another piece of her…the only piece that was still whole and then allowed herself to fall for him hard again and look what it got her.

They guys were all sitting around Max apartment just drinking…Team stuff Max decided and it felt great to be back but he was still quiet. He heard his phone ring and saw it was Lacy. He decided to not answer. Flower looked over at him and shook his head. He took his phone in his bedroom to see what the voicemail said.

Hope practice went good…call me later…Love you Max

He could tell by the end of the message that she was getting upset and she was hurting. He hated that he didn’t want to hurt her again but he also didn’t know what to do…he wasn’t sure if her loved her….yet….he knew it could be possible to love her…he had once before but he wasn’t sure if he did now.

“She sounds upset.” Flower and Sidney walked into the room

Max just nodded…. “What the hell am I supposed to do.”



“Talk to her” Sidney said…Max just looked at him

“ And say what Hey Lacy the sex was good but I don’t know if I love you…because that will go over so fucking well.”

“Well not exactly like that but come one Max you know you care about her…you have made that pretty obvious.” Sidney said as he picked up a rose petal that cause Max to just smile.

“Just be honest with her Max…don’t fuck up again…her brothers may actually kill you this time and don’t forget about that Lana chick” That alone caused Max to shutter every encounter he had with Lacy’s family after the break up and with Lana in Pittsburgh had been bad very bad.

“Maybe…you guys mind leaving I have to go somewhere” The other two just nodded and rounded everyone one up and Max got ready to go over to Lacy’s talk.

Lacy made her way up to her apartment. She took extra time to make sure that the tears had stopped. She had a surprise waiting for her. Before she could open her door it opened for her..

“Hey there baby sister”

“Landon…” Lacy dropped her bag and threw her arms around her oldest brother.

“What no greeting for me” LJ said as he walked into the room. Lacy dropped her arms from Landon and went to LJ

“What’s with the face” LJ asked but Lacy just srugged it off.

“You can’t get away that easy..Have you been crying” Landon turned her around and looked at her. He had been the one to take her to see Max he was the one that held her while she cried and cried.

“It’s nothing” Lacy didn’t want to share Max with her brothers just yet but Lana had other ideas

“O she is dating Max again. They found each other awhile back”

“What” both her brother said at the same time.

“He is different” Lacy wasn’t sure why she was defending him at this moment considering she spent her whole ride home crying over him.

“Lacy…”

“NO I don’t want to hear it”

“Then why are you crying”

“Because she slept with him and he hasn’t called her back”

“Jesus Christ Lana…I thought you said you would be there for me not rat me out…”

“I will be there but Jesus Lacy can’t you see it” Lana was fuming because he sister was hurting and that was what she was afraid of.

“He is bu…” but the door bell ringing stopped everything as her brother went to answer the door in the other room.

“YOU ASSHOLE” Lacy ran to the door.
